Who We Are

Formed in 2009, New Visions Counseling offers a full range of counseling services through its professionally licensed and certified staff.

New Visions Counseling has long experience with at-risk young people, as well as individuals who have been, or are being, supervised by the Juvenile and/or Criminal Justice Systems. Its therapeutic methods have been specifically selected and developed to help the population it serves.

It has helped clients successfully address a wide variety of issues including:

Kyle Hinton, a native of Detroit, Michigan relocated to Grand Rapids in the late 80’s, bringing with him a passion to teach young men how to become strong and proud fathers. Through extensive, continuous education, he delved into the root causes of the obstacles faced by these young men and developed innovative initiatives to address them. In addition to his work as a therapist, Kyle has supervised interns from the GVSU College of Community and Public Service Social Work Program. He has provided assessments, treatment plans and counseling for individuals and families referred by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Corrections, and he has worked as a Family Wellness Instructor at Pine Rest. For years, Kyle has also been active in the community as a volunteer, sharing his passion for strong families and fathers. Kyle lives in the Grand Rapids area. He is both a proud father and grandfather.
